Rafael Nadal will be unveiling a new serving motion at the Australian Open.

The Spaniard practiced it during the offseason and had a trial run during exhibitions at Abu Dhabi and Sydney. He says it's just another part of his efforts to keep improving and stay engaged during his career.

"You need to make you feel alive, you know," he said. "There is always things to improve. Is true that I try to improve during all my career all the things. [It] was always a thing that I tried to improve, and I think I did. Maybe was the time to try to make one more step, no. That's what we are trying."

It's also an area that can help him significantly, suggests Nadal.

"I happy with it. I happy with the motivation to do something new," he said. "I didn't compete with this new serve, so let's see how it works. I am confident it's going to work well."

Nadal is the second seed at the Australian Open.
