After a tough loss to Elise Mertens in the Qatar Total Open semifinals, Angelique Kerber beat Dalila Jakupovic in the round of 32 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

Kerber's game abandoned her in the final set of her loss to Mertens in Doha, and she didn't quite find it until late in the opening set in Dubai. The German went down 1-5 in the first, and it didn't seem likely that she'd claw her way back. But Kerber was able to steal the momentum, and then the second set ended up being far more straightforward.

The problem for Kerber is that she now faces Su-Wei Hsieh for a spot in the quarterfinals. If the world No. 7 doesn't play a good match, Hsieh will make her pay. She is one of the best in the world in capitalizing on opponent's mistakes.
