Shelby Rogers set to return to tour at hometown event in Charleston

The American has been off the tour since injuring her knee at the Miami Open last year.

Shelby Rogers will pick up her career where she left off, returning to competition at her hometown in Charleston.

Rogers will have been off the tour for more than a year when she returns, having injured her knee at Miami in 2018 just a week before she was scheduled to compete at the Charleston event.

"I am beyond excited for the opportunity to compete again at the Volvo Car Open," she said in a statement. Charleston is where it all began for me, so it is extra special to start my comeback here."

The 26-year-old joins fellow Americans Danielle Collins, Sofia Kenin and Amanda Anisimova among the wildcards. She will be unranked as she returns to tour.
