Next week at Roland Garros, Serena Williams will resume her quest for the elusive 24th Grand Slam. She is aiming to tie Margaret Court's all-time record—the America currently holds the Open era record of 23 majors.

Serena enters the French Open having played only four tournaments this season—four matches since January. The big question is her physical health, having pulled out of her last three tournaments. She retired from her Indian Wells round of 32 with illness, and pulled out of the Miami round of 32 due to a knee injury, which also forced her to withdraw from the much-anticipated Italian Open second-round clash against her sister Venus Williams.

So, will her knee hold up in Paris, a tournament she has won three times? She'll need to win seven straight matches to achieve her quest, but that's if her knee cooperates.

Since returning from maternity leave last March, the American has played only 11 tournaments, reaching the finals of Wimbledon and the US Open. At the 2017 French Open, she pulled out of her fourth-round match against Maria Sharapova due to a pectoral injury.

The 37-year-old kicks off her French Open campaign against Vitalia Diatchenko. Should Serena win her first four rounds, she's likely clash with world No. 1 Naomi Osaka, who has beaten her in both their two meetings.
