Roger Federer's title at Halle appears to be set to lift him to the No. 2 seed position at Wimbledon.

The Grand Slam event is unique in using a grass-court performance formula to determine its seeds. Federer's 10th title at Halle should put him in front of second-ranked Rafael Nadal when the seeds are announced this week, and he is aware of it.

"I heard rumors I'm going to be seeded No. 2 at Wimbledon," said Federer, speaking to press at Halle.

Though saying it would make little difference other than to allow him to plan his schedule, Federer is looking for a balance of rest and practice going into the All England Club.

"I want to take a couple of days off. I’ll speak to the team to hear if they want to have one day, two days or three days off, or another day off during the week," he said. 'And next to winning I also feel good physically."

The 20-time Grand Slam champion had some tough encounters in Halle, going three sets twice but cruising through the semifinals and final.

"So that’s also a big week and it’s always important at my age I think to prove myself that I can last five matches in six days and tough ones along the way and actually feel the best on Sunday. So from that standpoint I think it’s very positive," he said.

Federer is still No. 3 in the rankings.
