Venus Williams (USA) [8] vs. Ana Ivanovic (SRB) [4] Rod Laver Arena – second match
Head-to-head
Ivanovic has never beaten Venus, but she'll be inspired her countrywoman's defeat of Serena. Williams, meanwhile, is carrying the family name on her own, now that Serena is out of singles and the two of them lost in doubles. It's a difficult match to call, if only because neither player has looked her best so far. I'll go with a hunch.
Prediction: Serbia!
Novak Djokovic (SRB) [3] vs. David Ferrer (ESP) [5] Rod Laver Arena – final match
Head-to-head
Djokovic hasn't lost a set yet, but Ferrer is bound to make the Serbian work harder. It's just tough to see him winning.
Prediction: Long live Serbia!
Roger Federer (SUI) [1] vs. James Blake (USA) [12] Rod Laver Arena – 7:30 p.m.
Head-to-head
Federer has beaten Blake all seven times they have played. Get ready for number eight and congratulate Blake on a good tournament.
Prediction: Federer
