7:55 pm - And off they go again at 2-2 in the fifth, with a delay of about 20 minutes expected. Can play finish tonight? Or will we get a Monday finish to commemorate the last year without a roof?
6:20 pm - The Wimbledon weather office forecasts showers for the next 20 minutes or so, followed, they hope, by a prolonged dry spell. "I suggest a cup of tea and a bun, and then we should be able to resume play after that," the ever-helpful on-site official says.
EVENING FORECAST- Some sunny spells this evening, then some clear spells overnight. However, cloudier spells are likely to bring rain or showers at times, and some of these are likely to be heavy. Brisk southwesterly winds should gradually ease later. Minimum temperature 12 deg C (54 deg F).
FORECAST - Bright or sunny spells and showers, which may be heavy and thundery, and they could merge into a longer spell of rain for a time. Still windy, especially southern coasts. Maximum temperature 21 deg C (70 deg F).
Thursday, July 3
6:20 pm - Play will begin shortly
5:15 pm - The delay continues and more rain is expected shortly.
4:50 pm - Heavy rain interrupts the second women's semifinal with Serena Williams leading 6-2, 5-5 and the fourth men's quarterfinal (already delayed from yesterday) with Rainer Schuettler and Arnaud Clement tied at deuce at 6-6 in the fifth set.
FORECAST - Showers, locally thundery, should soon die out this evening with some late sunshine. The rest of the night should then be dry with clear periods. Turning rather chilly in rural parts later. Minimum temperature 9 deg C (48 deg F).
Wednesday, July 2
4:35 pm - The players are warming up.
3:55 pm - "As you are aware the weather is playing one or two tricks on us," says the PA... the courts were being uncovered, but the rain has returned and the tarps are back on.
3:10 pm - Play expected in about 20 minutes
2:25 pm - More rain, and the players go off court.
2:00 pm - Play begins
1:45 pm - The courts are almost ready to go
1:35 pm - The following announcement comes over the PA in inimitable Wimbledon style: "The rain appears to have abated for the moment. The plan is to deflate the covers, uncover the courts, and if play is due to start in the not too distant future, then I shall get back to you. So the plan, again, to deflate the covers, uncover the courts, and as I say, if play is due to start shortly, then I shall get back to you. Thank you."
1:00 pm - The courts are still covered with light rain expected to last a couple of hours.
FORECAST - A bright start in places, otherwise cloudy with rain at times, perhaps locally heavy with a low risk of thunder. Becoming brighter from the west later with some sunshine and just one or two showers. Maximum temperature 22 deg C (72 deg F).

2:36 pm - Play restarts
1:30 pm - No we don't (see below)... The covers are back on.
1: 20 pm - Play is expected to begin on the show courts at 1:30 pm. "We live in hope," says the voice over the PA.
1:00 pm - After four days of mostly fine weather, the rain made its first appearance late Thursday night and returned this afternoon to stop play for the first time during this year's championships. Play on Centre and No. 1 courts had not yet begun. It's a light but persisent drizzle, so we're probably looking at a day of stops and starts.
FORECAST - Mostly cloudy from midday with a 30% risk of light showers affecting the site from time to time early in teh afternoon. A muggy feel to the afternoone as temperatures reach 21 °C after lunchtime. Southwest winds reaching 15mph with gusts to 25 mph at times.
