FIRST TAKE:
Tecnifibre is known for strings, but it’s also been making racquets in Europe since 2003. This year, the company started selling sticks in the States, including this advanced-player model.

HOW IT TESTED:
With a flexible feel and excellent feedback— characteristics that enhance control—the TFight 325 is very oldschool. The tight string pattern (18 x 20) further improves accuracy, but it also limits the amount of bite you can get on the ball. The other thing to take into consideration is weight. At around 12 ounces (unstrung it’s 11.5 ounces, or 325 grams, hence the name), the TFight delivers the typical pros and cons of a heavy racquet: It’s stable on off-center hits but takes a lot of effort to swing. If you can consistently nail the small yet potent sweet spot, you’ll hit with more authority off the ground; otherwise, it could be a long day on the court. At net, the TFight’s combination of soft feel and superb control helped playtesters place their volleys. And no one thought that the extra length hampered the frame’s maneuverability. But getting to net was an issue for some playtesters who struggled to kick their serves.

BOTTOM LINE:
Not ideal if you hit with heavy topspin, but perfect if you bring your own power and need more control.
