HOW IT TESTED
Although the company is now releasing racquets under the Boris Becker label, Völkl has reissued its popular C 10 Pro to mark the frame’s more than 10 years on the market. Other than replacing the yellow-and-blue cosmetic with a new black one, there’s nothing different about this latest incarnation. In fact, the C 10 Pro has gone virtually unchanged throughout its existence. Its selling points have always been great feel and control. The fl ex in the frame makes it particularly good for hitting with touch and manipulating the ball. “I hit all sorts of cool shots with it,” said a 4.0 male all-courter. Players with fast swings who are able to consistently hit the sweet spot will fi nd a solid, stable response and plenty of pop. The head-light balance makes the racquet maneuverable, but some testers felt it could use a little more stability after experiencing wobbling on off-center hits at net.
BOTTOM LINE
Shot-makers who favor flexible, traditional frames should get acquainted with this old favorite.
