How It Tested
If the [K] Pro Tour and Open racquets are looked at as siblings, the former would be considered the older and somewhat wiser one. The Tour is heavier and has a smaller head size which gives it a bit more stability and control. The Open offers greater power, but isn’t quite as adept in the accuracy department. Some playtesters found the Open to be a little deceptive in that looking at the head size, fairly thick beam width and lighter weight, they were expecting more pop than the racquet actually delivers. That’s not to say it doesn’t have power, it’s just not going to do most of the work for you. The Tour is more demanding as it requires an even bigger swing, and missing the sweet spot will take some juice out of your shot. Both frames have open string patterns making it conducive to putting spin on the ball. Net play wasn’t bad with the racquets, but testers seemed to favor them for ground strokes and particularly complimented the easy handling and solid stability.

Bottom Line
Solid juniors and grinders who put a lot of work on the ball will find these sticks appealing.
