SALES PITCH:
A lighter alternative to the popular Adidas Barricade that still suits the needs of serious players.

HOW IT TESTED:
With its breathable leather mesh upper for ventilation and air bubbles in the heel, the Adidas a3 Prevail is loaded with comfort features. From a stability standpoint, there’s a piece of thermoplastic urethane that runs from the heel to the midfoot for support. The outsole is a variation on the classic herringbone-wave design, making the shoe a good choice on any surface. Even though the a3 Prevail is lighter than previous Adidas performance models, some older recreational players may still find the shoe a bit hefty. But our playtesters said that during rigorous play, you couldn’t ask for a more stable shoe.

BOTTOM LINE:
A great game-day choice for competitive players who want a substantial shoe.
