SALES PITCH:
Andy Roddick's signature shoe offers low-to-the-ground responsiveness for the most aggressive movers.

OUR TAKE:
The Propulse is a snug-fitting, high-performance shoe for serious players. Indeed, if you have wide feet, you might find the shoe too tight. But you should find the stability to your liking. There’s a strap (complete with Roddick’s signature on the men’s model) across the well-ventilated upper that adds support for lateral movement. While it works on any surface, the outsole has tiny grooves that make it more compatible with hard courts. The drawback for weartesters, particularly women, was lack of cushioning in the forefoot. But the shock absorber in the heel does its job well, and the low ride makes changing directions easy.
