FIRST TAKE:
These ultralight K-Swiss kicks, which are part of the company’s high-performance 7.0 System, are all about helping you get to the ball faster.

HOW IT TESTED:
The Ascendor SLT is one of the most original shoes of the spring. The upper is constructed of mesh, which reduces the shoe’s weight and increases breathability. For support, K-Swiss reinforces the mesh with nylon and polyester. (This may also have been the reason the shoe required a break-in period.) And the laces thread through the upper for a tight fit. While our advanced playtesters questioned its stability on hard turns, no one else had any qualms.

BOTTOM LINE:
The light weight makes it a good game-day option for players who don’t require maximum stability.
