The New Balance 782 provides the ventilation and cushioning players need for long days on the court.
OUR TAKE:
The most outstanding trait of the New Balance 782 is comfort. It’s lightweight, very breathable, and the Abzorb shock absorption in the heel and forefoot provides nice cushioning. The soft, mostly mesh upper also makes easy to wear right out of the box. It’s the type of shoe you could happily wear all day. Indeed, our weartesters were impressed with the 782 right across the board. Our only grip with it, though, is from a performance standpoint there’s not enough support for intense play. The upper feels great, but it lacks some stability for lateral movement. And the flexpoint (where the shoe bends) is in the middle of the shoe, instead of by the balls of the feet. Over time these shortcomings could lead to discomfort for players who are heavy on their feet and need more support from their shoes. But if you’re more of a casual player who wants a comfortable shoe, these certainly fit that description.
