SALES PITCH:
The M stands for “maximum.” The letter after it refers to each model’s emphasis: C for cushioning, V for ventilation, and S for stability.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
This is a clever concept. The three models in the M series are essentially the same shoe. But by putting a Velcro strap on the upper of one (the MS4, which is for men only) you get a more stable shoe; by softening the plastic Precision Tubes in the heel and forefoot you get a cushioned version (the MC4); and by making the upper more breathable with perforated mesh fabric you get a more ventilated option (the MV4). You can pick the shoe that’s specialized for your particular need. The only slight disappointment in the group is the MC4, which provides a soft ride but isn’t exceptionally comfortable given its emphasis.
