OUR TAKE:
Wilson shoes tend to be roomy in the toe box, and the Grand Slam is no exception. Combine that with the soft synthetic leather upper and the result is a nice level of comfort right out of the box. The ventilated hard-plastic arch bridge provides good midfoot support, but only in the men’s model. The women’s versions we evaluated had inadequate flex points. Instead of bending at the ball of the foot, its natural bending point, the shoe collapsed in the arch. This could cause discomfort in your arches. Otherwise, the shoe, particularly the men’s model, is a solid all-court offering.
