Andy Murray won his third career clay-court ATP title by topping Novak Djokovic, 6-3, 6-3 in the Rome final on Sunday. Djokovic had a significantly tougher time reaching the final-round rematch against Murray (he had to take out Rafael Nadal on Friday, and needed a third-set tiebreaker to beat Kei Nishikori on Saturday). With the win on Sunday, Murray moves back to No. 2 in the rankings and will maintain that seeding position for Roland Garros.

Serena Williams won her 70th career WTA title in Rome by defeating fellow American Madison Keys, 7-6 (5), 6-3. The victory marked her first title since Cincinnati, successfully ending a nine-month long drought. In her five matches last week, the world No. 1 did not drop a set, though she did experiment a little too much with her dinner options. Keys moved up to No. 17 in the rankings.

Bob and Mike Bryan squeezed past eighth seeds Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock, 2-6 ,6-3, 10-7 to win their fourth Rome crown and 36th ATP Masters 1000 title (and 112th doubles title together). The Americans have won an ATP 250, ATP 500 and now ATP Masters 1000 this year, so Bob Bryan said the next logical step is a Grand Slam. Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza won their sixth title of 2016 with a 6-1, 6-7 (5), 10-3 win over Ekaterina Makanrova and Elena Vesnina.
