Ajla Tomljanovic is getting a new partner in tennis — Pete the Penguin.

The Aussie was spotted wearing apparel from a new sponsor throughout the Australian Open, and now the news is official: Original Penguin, a heritage athleisure brand, announced Tomljanovic as their first brand ambassador in tennis.

Original Penguin and its namesake icon Pete the Penguin have been an American classic for over 60 years. The brand marked its first move into tennis with the upcoming launch of the Tennis Spring 2022 women’s collection, available this April.

“I look forward to this brand partnership that offers such an iconic history and excited to be a part of its future evolution into tennis,” Tomljanovic said in a statement.

“The brand’s spirit perfectly reflects my personality and I look forward to performing on a global stage knowing that Original Penguin’s modern fit, fashionable designs and performance materials will empower me to achieve great success both on and off the court.”

The new collection’s design inspiration represents a fusion of retro heritage style with a modern “original” twist while marrying the intersection of classic silhouettes and crisp tennis whites along with colorful original prints.”

Tomljanovic is currently ranked No. 40 in the world. Original Penguin by Munsingwear is a division of Perry Ellis International.
