Following her third-round exit to Victoria Azarenka at Indian Wells, Petra Kvitova tweeted she was ready for some “Petra time” after revealing she would not play any further tournaments in 2021.

What does that mean exactly? With the BNP Paribas Open taking place in October instead of March, the two-time Wimbledon champion has used the tournament’s shift to her advantage in hitting up a vacation destination she dreamed of visiting. Hint: Aloha!

“Hawaii has always been high up on my travel bucket list so when we finished the season in Indian Wells this year, I knew it was a perfect chance to make it happen,” the Czech wrote on Instagram. “I’m falling in love with the beautiful Big Island and feeling so relaxed.”

It’s the early goings, but Kvitova shared on her IG story that she’s already taken in a sunrise from the confines of a canoe. And if her original post is anything to go by, soaking up the sun will be on the 31-year-old’s daily order of play.

Kvitova’s latest season was highlighted by her 28th-tour level title (Doha) and being selected as her country’s co-flag bearer at the Tokyo Olympics.
