Andy Murray is hoping to see all the best players at the Australian Open this year and this includes Novak Djokovic. The Serbian has raised on-going questions about if he will play the major tournament since the event requires all players to be vaccinated this year.

Djokovic who has been vocal about his stance on getting vaccinated believes it shouldn't be mandatory and that it's a personal choice. With that being said, he still hasn't revealed if he's been vaccinated but his name remains on the Aussie Open's entry list. Murray believes this can only mean one thing.

"I don’t know what the situation is with Novak. The latest I saw was that he was on the entry list, and I assume he’s playing and has been vaccinated.

"But we were told they were the rules – if you want to play, you have to be vaccinated – so I’m assuming that’s what’s happened," Murray told press.

The former world No. 1 wants to see exciting headlines and steaming-hot matches in Melbourne and that happens when the best players play. With Djokovic's amazing success at the tournament, Murray wants to see him compete and try to break more records in 2022.

"Ultimately, you want all of the best players to be playing in the biggest events," Murray said. "It’s what makes the events more interesting and he’s also going to try to win and break the record, winning a 21st Slam.

"His record there is phenomenal, so hopefully he’ll be there."
