Andy Roddick may not be on the court vying for titles anymore, but he sure is keeping busy. The American has his own foundation that creates opportunities for kids to learn and thrive, he also is a Tennis Channel talent and now he's a new investor in Cure Hydration. The startup company launched in 2019 and Roddick is a believer in the clean and minimally processed products.

"I'm a huge believer in what Cure is doing. It's effective hydration without the added sugar and artificial ingredients that most sports drinks have," Roddick said in a recent interview with Yahoo.

The former world No. 1 built a strong connection to the hydration brand based off the challenges he endured during his tennis career. For Roddick, it was always difficult to stay hydrated on the court with the amount of fluids he would lose due to sweating. What always seemed like a solution would be more of a tradeoff, no product left him feeling good while being responsibly made.

He may not be a professional tennis player now, but Cure Hydration's integrity for the environment and their customers is something that hit home for Roddick. He joins Silicon Valley Bank, Nasir "Nas" Jones, Beliade, Lerer Hippeau as a top investor for the young company. Currently, Cure Hydration consist of seven full-time employees and is headquartered in New York City.

According to Roddick, "once you try Cure, you'll never go back to any of the old hydration products you've used in the past." Customers can find an assortment of hydration packets that range from ginger turmeric to endless summer watermelon. A pack of 14 sticks can cost anywhere from $20.99-24.99.

In an oversaturated market, Cure Hydration will look to break through with its plant-based ingredients, science-backed research and no added sugar products.
