A year ago, Anett Kontaveit was dealing with the emotional impact of coming up short against Serena Williams at the 2022 US Open. Fast forward 12 months and the former world No. 2 is living her best life in retirement, having hung up her racquets for good at Wimbledon after dealing with persistent injuries.

Kontaveit checked in with fans following the US Open women’s semifinals, showing off pics from a trip to Greece:

Earlier in the tournament, she got artsy with some irreverent work by CB Hoyo:

The 27-year-old has also been enjoying time at home, celebrating Estonia’s Independence Day earlier in August:

Conspicuously absent from Kontaveit’s latest posts is any mention of tennis—despite well wishes from many fellow players following along with her next chapter. The 2021 WTA Finals runner-up was emphatic that she would be unlikely to make a comeback after playing her final match at the All England Club earlier this summer.

“It was a very difficult decision,” she said after winning her final match, “and once I decide something big like this, I don't usually start doubting it.”

Fans can likely look forward to catching the final part of Kontaveit’s impressive career in the next season of Break Point, and in the meantime, they can keep up with the Estonian on Instagram.
