Kansas City Chiefs games have quickly become the place to be seen in 2023—and even all the way in Germany, former No. 1 Angelique Kerber got that memo.

The three-time Grand Slam winner posted up a storm this weekend on Instagram from Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park, where the Chiefs faced the Miami Dolphins as a part of the NFL’s International Series. Kerber got to witness the Chiefs pull off a 21-14 win—but she noticed something (or rather, someone) was missing: Pop megastar Taylor Swift was absent from her usual spot in the Chief’s luxury suites, where she is frequently seen supporting boyfriend and Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce.

“First time at an NFL game… but where is Taylor Swift?” Kerber joked on Instagram Stories, sharing a selfie and a crying-with-laughter emoji.

The game was part of a busy weekend for Kerber, who was in Frankfurt for a German sports press ball after being announced as an ambassador for Laureus Sports Foundation. Kerber, the 2017 and 2019 Laureus Sportswoman of the Year, will be working to help young people in Germany through sports  in her new role.

“What a weekend, full of events and no chance of boredom,” Kerber shared on Instagram. “Sport has the power to change the world,” she added. “That’s something I truly believe in and I’m so proud to be joining forces with Laureus from now on.”

The 35-year-old also gave fans a reassuring update on her WTA Tour comeback. Kerber gave birth to daughter Liana in February, and is now preparing to return to action in time to start the season Down Under in 2024.

“Everything is going to plan,” she said in a recent interview with Porsche. “My preparation for the Australian Open is obviously totally different, simply because it’s three times as long as normal. It’s all going well. I still actually have a bit of time to go.

“My goal is to be ready for the first match when we fly to Australia right after Christmas.”

Kerber’s schedule also includes competing for Team Germany at the new-look United Cup in Sydney—alongside Alexander Zverev and Laura Siegemund—and contesting her first WTA Tour event in Adelaide, before heading to Melbourne for the year's first Grand Slam.

The former world No. 1 has been on maternity leave since reaching the third round at Wimbledon last summer.
