World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka put on a dazzling display of power tennis in her opening match at the WTA Finals in Cancun on Sunday night, defeating No. 9-ranked Maria Sakkari by a 6-0, 6-1 scoreline.

Not only did she get some revenge with the 74-minute victory, having lost the pair’s only two previous meetings at the season-ending championships, but the win pushed her across a big milestone: Sabalenka will now surpass $20 million in career prize money.

She came into Cancun with $19,729,563 in career prize money, and she earned $326,000 with her opening win—a $128,000 participation fee for playing the match and $198,000 more for winning it.

Sabalenka will be the 24th player to surpass $20 million in WTA history, and just the second born in 1998 or later to do it after Iga Swiatek.
