Wedding bells keep ringing for WTA stars, none bigger than for world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty, who announced her engagement to longterm partner Garry Kissick on Tuesday.

“Future husband,” wrote the two-time major champion to caption a photo of a beaming trio: Barty, Kissick, and her impressive rock.

Barty solidified her status as the tour’s best player in 2021, winning six titles in eight months including the Miami Open, the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, and Western & Southern Open. She captured her second Grand Slam victory at Wimbledon in three sets over Karolina Pliskova.

Following a third-round exit at the US Open, Barty opted to return home to Australia, thereby curtailing her season short of anticipated appearances at the BNP Paribas Open and WTA Finals, having won the latter in 2019.

The 25-year-old nonetheless will finish atop the WTA rankings for a third straight season and is set to return to action in 2022.
