The name Asics comes from the Latin phrase, Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, which means “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” The Japanese athletic shoe and apparel manufacturer looks to deliver on that promise with a new range of high-performance tennis gear that focuses on improved performance while reducing stress on the body.

The Court FF franchise balances speed and support for the most aggressive movers. It’s the shoe of choice for Novak Djokovic, who collaborated on the development of this third installment.

One of the highlights is a new, three-piece outsole designed to increase flexibility and comfort. Internal testing resulted in a 7% drop in impact on the body on court contact compared to the outgoing model, reducing stress on the body and enabling a quicker recovery.

The Gel-Resolution is one of the game’s premiere support and stability shoes. For the 9th generation the key upgrades bolster those properties while also improving the comfort of the previous version. The redesigned Dynawrap technology holds the foot more securely during movement, while the new Dynawall construction demonstrated a 4.5% lowering in lateral braking time.

So, less time is spent moving in and out of cuts, for more efficient baseline movement.

Asics has also completely revamped its apparel to focus more on comfort. With feedback from players of all levels, the company looked to create pieces that won't impede tennis-specific movements. The newly designed Zero Distraction line has refined sizing, improved comfort and strategically placed technology so as not to restrict or disturb during play.

The Court FF 3, Gel-Resolution 9 and Asics Tennis Apparel range will be available January 1. Check back in the coming weeks for more detailed reviews.
