Cam Norrie endorses the new Carbon Grey Pure Strike

The Babolat Pure Strike is a favorite of aggressive players who demand precision and feel. Now, it’s not just the performance that will turn heads—it’s the color.

Say goodbye to the signature white, and hello to Carbon Grey—a sleek, modern update that matches the Pure Strike’s bold on-court personality. This new colorway brings a stealthy, high-performance edge to a racquet already known for dominating the baseline with confidence and control.

The refresh midway through the racquet’s lifecycle gives the line a shot in the arm. The current generation’s white base colorway is a dead ringer to the previous iteration, so the racquet has looked the same for the better part of a decade. Some players may not have even realized the racquet underwent any changes at all.

The carbon grey colorway gives vibes of the original Pure Strike and the final edition of the Pure Strike VS. And rather than a few limited-edition models getting a special treatment, the entire line is receiving the new cosmetic. It’s designed to give the frames a more technical, premium look.

While the appearance is updated, the layup and playability match that of current models. The Pure Strike is Babolat’s control franchise, but it still packs the punch that the brand is known for. It’s intended for attacking players who like to take the ball early and use precision and creativity to end points.

This latest edition took several steps to raise the command of the frame even further. First, the racquet’s hybrid beam—combining the stability and feel of a square shape with the speed and power of an elliptical structure—was softened slightly to allow for better ball feel. Next, NF2 Tech—natural flax fibers placed at strategic points in the racquet—filters out unwanted vibration and gives the user a better perception of control. Finally, Frame String Interaction Control combines the more predictable response of a tighter string pattern with the extended dwell time to provide greater ball connection to better manipulate shots.

Babolat hopes the new paintjob and its timing—approaching the off-season when competitive players are testing and considering new equipment—will encourage consumers to revisit the franchise. Those who didn’t realize it had changed, as well as those who simply don’t like white racquets can give it a second look. Matching racquet bags and backpack round out the color update.

The new Carbon Grey Pure Strikes are currently available at babolat.com and tennis specialty retailers.
