With a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win Daniil Medvedev captured his first Grand Slam trophy and he did it against world No. 1 Novak Djokovic. The US Open No. 2 seed played solid from start to finish to deny the 20-time major champion of capturing a calendar Grand Slam. This was Medvedev's third major final and it was most certainly a charm this time around.
