His story is a sad one, but Juan Martin del Potro refuses to see it that way, which is just one of the reasons we love him so much. The gentle giant is back in the gym working on one last return to tennis. One of the few players who instilled true fear into the Big Three over the last decade, the Argentine is one of tennis’ greatest “what if’s”. Here’s hoping for one more magical Del Potro moment.

The same goes for Andy Murray. While the Brit experienced more healthy years than Del Potro, his body also backfired on him. But there’s no denying tennis is a better place when Murray and Del Potro are present.

Last but not least, a little technical lesson for all you one-handed backhand hitters out there. Notice the importance of Dominic Thiem’s off-hand when hitting the backhand. Thiem’s backhand is a beautiful stroke.
