Taylor Fritz treated buddy Tommy Paul to a friendship bracelet in a cute new video posted by the ATP social team.

“I think he’ll think getting a friendship bracelet’s funny!” teased the American who, along with Paul, remain in hot pursuit of Nitto ATP Finals berths.

As if on cue, Paul, who knows Fritz from their junior days, appears over the moon with the surprise gift, joking that the two are overdue for a turn on the doubles court “with our matching friendship bracelets.”

Friendship bracelets have become all the rage in the summer following Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, and the U.S. men are in the midst of a new era all their own in 2023, boasting four men in the Top 20 led by Fritz at No. 10.

Semifinalist at the ATP Finals in 2022, Fritz kept his hopes of a Turin return alive at the Rolex Paris Masters by navigating an injured abdominal muscle to defeat Sebastian Baez in straight sets. Paul had an even tougher go later that same day, rallying from an 0-6 first set and three match points down to defeat home favorite Richard Gasquet in a final-set tiebreaker.
