At the BNP Paribas Open, it's safe to say that Carlos Alcaraz will have fancy feet. The 2022 US Open champion and Indian Wells' top seed was presented with a pair of custom sneakers by Nike, his clothing sponsor, and if you ask us, they're fire.

The Spanish sensation showed off his custom kicks in a recent TikTok, and an eye-catching blue, green and white colorway is only part of the story. The shoes are emblazoned with Nike's slogan, 'Just do 1t,' stylized in recognition of Alcaraz being the youngest-ever world No. 1 in ATP history, on one side, and the Spanish words 'cabeza, corazón y cojones' on the other.

The phrase has becoming a bit of a rallying cry for Alacarz since he's reached the top of the game, wisdom from his grandfather that Alcaraz has said helps him get through tense moments on and off the tennis court.

'Cabeza, corazón y cojones' is also presented artistically near the heel of the shoe, with a small, gold drawing of a brain, heart and a pair of tennis balls. (We see what you did there, Nike.)

Alcaraz's sartorial stylings aren't the only thing worth keeping an eye on over the next two weeks.

He's playing for the first time since a recurring leg injury forced him out of the ATP 500 in Acapulco, and proclaimed himself fit and ready to play in his pre-tournament press conference. With Novak Djokovic absent from the BNP Paribas Open, Alcaraz has a chance to return to the world No. 1 ranking based off of his performance this fortnight. A semifinalist in Indian Wells 12 months ago, Alcaraz must win the title to get back to the top spot.

Alcaraz faces Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round on Saturday.
