What’s that they say about being nice to the people you meet on your way to the top?

Carlos Alcaraz has clearly not forgotten where he came from at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires, reuniting with friends from his junior days and leaving tickets for them to watch his first tournament of 2023.

Journalist Marcos Zugasti was on the grounds to capture Alcaraz’s former contemporaries as he took on Dusan Lajovic for an exciting evening of quarterfinal action.

“The humility is total,” notes Zugasti with a photo of Alejo Lorenzo Lingua Lavallen and Romi Burruchaga to watch their “bro” beat Lajovic in straight sets.

Alcaraz later shared an Instagram story Lingua posted from Court Guillermo Villas.

In what was only his second match since last fall, the reigning US Open champion is rounding into form after injuries ruled him out of the 2022 ATP Finals and the 2023 Australian Open.

The Spanish teen next takes on Bernabe Zapata Miralles for a spot in the final, and can likely expect plenty of support from friends both old and new on Saturday.
