Casper, the pappa! Casper Ruud and his fiancée, Maria Galligani, announced Thursday that they're expecting a baby girl, due next year.

The couple enlisted their beloved Maltese-Shih Tzu mix, Don Bajas, to help them break the happy news. Seated with his paw-rents on a white couch, the 5-year-old pup posed alongside baby booties and ultrasound photos.

Ruud's fellow ATP pros including Novak Djokovic, Tommy Paul, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, and others were quick to comment their well-wishes on the post, which quickly accumulated nearly 50,000 likes in its first hour online.

Galligani has been by Ruud's side for almost a decade, with the couple going public with their romance back in 2018. The two got engaged last November, with Ruud popping the question in a dreamy beachside scene.

"Can't wait to marry you," he wrote alongside photos from the proposal.

The news is a bright spot in what's been a tough stretch for the Norwegian on the court.

Since winning the Mutua Madrid Open in May, he has recorded back-to-back wins at just two tournaments, and missed Wimbledon with a knee injury. He most recently fell in the second round of the US Open to Belgian qualifier Raphael Collignon, though he reached the mixed doubles final with Iga Swiatek.
