WATCH: Prakash catches up with McCoco

Coco Gauff and Caty McNally like to keep things simple. So perhaps that’s why when asked by Prakash Amritraj to select a walk-on song of their choosing on Wednesday, Gauff went with a tune carrying a simple chorus in favor of his suggestion, “Best Friend”, by Saweetie.

“I feel like it would probably be something stupid, Baby Shark, doo, doo,” Gauff began to sing before bursting into laughter with her doubles partner.

The Americans stopped by the Tennis Channel desk following their 7-5, 6-7 (4) [10-7] victory over Alizé Cornet and Jil Teichmann in the Miami Open quarterfinals. For McNally, she was encouraged by the way the duo bounced back after missing opportunities to get the job done in straight sets.

“It was a tough match, credit to them for fighting,” the 20-year-old said. ”She was huge out there for me today, keeping me positive.”

McCoco is seeking its biggest team title to date (Gauff partnered Jessica Pegula to the 1000-level title at Doha in February).

The more serious analysis quickly turned to light-hearted banter when the two were asked about the secret behind their success as a team.

Started McNally, “You wanna go, or…?”

Gauff trolled by saying, “Nothing,” with a chuckle. “I’m just kidding. Definitely our friendship off the court. I always have fun playing with Caty.”

McNally however, was up in the air on the Baby Shark suggestion. “Yeah, that’s our song. Or not.”

As the two wrapped up their segment, Amritraj tried to encourage viewers to tweet the No. 4 seeds with their song nominations ahead of their next match. But Gauff appeared to be all set.

“Baby Shark, doo, doo,” the 18-year-old chimed in before he could finish.

Simple ideas only, Prakash.
