Will the millennial at the USTA who pitched a Wild Thornberrys-inspired hype graphic for Team USA please stand up?

Gen Z would like a word with you.

Coco Gauff voiced her befuddlement at the attempt to cheer on the players as they began their respective Australian Open campaigns on Twitter/X Sunday, leading many to realize The Wild Thornberrys, the cartoon on which the graphic’s art style was based, finished airing only two months after Gauff was born in 2004.

Gauff wasn’t feeling the homage to Eliza Thornberry, the protagonist blessed with the ability to speak to animals, nor was longtime doubles partner Jessica Pegula, who popped into the replies with a “Hahahahhaha we are ugly af.”

The hardest done by in the graphic is undoubtedly Ben Shelton, who is drawn to look like young Donnie Thornberry—give him a google when you get a chance, fellow kids. Ben's not pleased.

A day away from her first round against Anna Karolina Schmidlova, Gauff suggested the next graphic have a more Bratz aesthetic, preemptively shooting down any As Told By Ginger or Rocket Power pitches for the forseeable future.
