Welcome home, Crash Marino Collins! The injured dog that Danielle Collins rescued from a Miami street after he was hit by a car is happily settling into his new home with one of the WTA tour's biggest animal lovers.

Collins revealed during her Miami Open campaign last week that she came across the pup curled up in the road on her way home from Hard Rock Stadium early in the fortnight, eventually rushing him to a vetiranary hospital and promising that she'd adopt him if he pulled through his ordeal.

After emerency surgery, five days on oxygen therapy for contusions in his lungs, and plenty of well-wishes from tennis fans around the world, Collins made a happy announcement Wednesday that Crash was discharged from the hospital and her family has officially grown by one four-legged friend.

"His breathing is back to normal, his wounds are healing, and he is definitely enjoying all the love he is receiving," Collins shared on Instagram, showing the newest addition to her family snuggling with her in bed.

"He is curious, affectionate, and grateful for a second chance at life. It was so incredibly painful to witness a dog in so much pain after being hit by a car, and left in the middle of the road with so many people driving by his curled up body. I’m just grateful I was able to be there and get him the care he needed."

Crash joins four other dogs in Collins' household, including the famous Quincy, nicknamed Mr. Q, a Labradoodle whom Collins dubbed the "MVP" of her run to her first WTA 1000 title at Hard Rock Stadium last spring. Though her title defense ended at the hands of Aryna Sabalenka in the Round of 16 in 2025, we're betting that Collins is just as thrilled (or, honestly, even more so) to leave Miami with a happy, healthy new pet (and "a new brother" for Mr. Q) instead of another trophy.

"Thank you to everyone who prayed for Crash," she wrote, "and also a massive thank you to the wonderful team of veterinarians that took care of Crash and helped him receive the best possible care!"
