Daniil Medvedev kicked off the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals by expanding his gaming portfolio, announcing himself as part of the M80 ownership group.

“I’ve been a fan of esports for a while now and play a lot,” posted the world No. 3, who won his first round-robin match against Andrey Rublev in Turin on Monday. “Especially @Rainbow6Game. Joining the M80 ownership team is exciting. I love the team, follow many of the players individually, and really like Marco’s vision.  More to come!”

The esports organization echoed Medvedev’s sentiments on Twitter/X: “As we continue building a world-class esports organization, Daniil joining M80 supercharges our vision. The future is bright!”

Medvedev has turned his favorite hobby into a lucrative side hustle in 2023, becoming a Game Ambassador for his beloved *Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege* ahead of this year’s US Open.

“It’s a very strategic game, but some people will try to play it like other games where they rush and try to kill straight away,” the 2021 champion told me back in August. “I’m actually really good against players like this because I can find the sneaky spots where they can’t see me, and I can kill them when they least expect it.”

Created by XSET co-founder Marco Mereu, M80 launched in 2022 and currently fields esports teams for games including R6S, Valorant, CS:GO, Rocket League, and Street Fighter.

A reminder that in 2024, the R6S squad will have the opportunity to take on Medvedev’s signature skin, complete with unique gear and charm.

Things are about to get pretty meta over at M80.
