Everyone endured the quarantine period of the pandemic a little bit differently. Alex de Minaur spent most of the initial lockdown at his training base in Spain, alone.

Once the tour resumed, De Minaur hit the ground running. He won the doubles crown at the Western and Southern Open with Pablo Carreno Busta and then reached the quarterfinals of the US Open. Though the clay season didn't go very well, he reached the final of Antwerp before calling it a season.

To start of 2021, he won his fourth career ATP title, in Antalya. Then, after a trying two-week hotel quarantine, he got to spend a lot of quality time back in his home country for the ATP Cup and Australian Open.
