Djokovic embodies inner samurai; tries his hand at coaching

Novak Djokovic is known for his willingness to try new things, and he started his offseason with some water therapy and by playing "Samurai"—the second part he shared on Instagram in a series of photos.

He also played the role of tennis coach for his wife, Jelena.

"What do you think—is this appropriate attire and seating for a coach on the stands?" Jelena asked Djokovic's own coach, Marian Vajda.

It's been a well-deserved break for Djokovic, who's made the final or better in seven of his last eight tournaments, winning Wimbledon, the US Open and Shanghai. Since June, he's brought his ranking up from No. 22 to No. 1 in the world.

Djokovic was also named the ATP's 2018 Comeback Players of the Year.

The Serbian has a lot to play for in the coming season; he recently tied Pete Sampras for third place on the men's all-time Grand Slam list with 14, and he's put himself right back in the middle of the conversation for the greatest men's player ever.

Maybe the samurai mindset will give Djokovic the edge he needs to stay on top.
