Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena have launched the Season of Giving campaign for the third consecutive year. This year, the couple is hoping to raise $100,000 Euros to help fund the opening of two preschools in small Serbian villages.

The Djokovic Foundation has always put an emphasis on early education and this year is no different. In 2019, the foundation managed to assist reconstruction of preschools in three different municipalities. It has helped more than 30,000 children in Serbia gain access to early education.

The Djokovic family is looking forward to kicking off the construction of two preschools in Vajska and Ljubis, and will be matching all donations during this year's Season of Giving campaign.

“Our country is full of real little gems, but unfortunately, in smaller places, they often cannot develop their full potential because they do not have access to early education," the Djokovics said.

Earlier this year, the couple shifted their focus away from creating and enhancing preschools across Serbia, to provide relief to hospitals and other medical institutions during the pandemic. They donated $1 million through their foundation to purchase ventilators and other medical equipment.

Although COVID-19 halted their vision for children and the future, their primary goal is to invest into the well-being and education of youths across Serbia.
