Suarez Navarro plans to make more final appearances this year, at the Olympics before wrapping up her colorful career at the US Open. Her only tournament showing prior to the grass-court major in 2021 was at Roland Garros. She also put up a strong fight against American Sloane Stephens, but fell in three tight sets on the terre battue, in front of an empty Court Simonne-Mathieu.
