And that's how it goes in Mason, Ohio: Players take to the mundane. I say this recalling how, in August 2012, I shared an after-midnight dinner with a fellow journalist following a Cincinnati night session. Turns out that's a ripe time to see none other than Li Na's husband, Jiang "Dennis" Shan, stopping in for takeout. (The pros and their teams also flock to, of all places, Crapplebee's.)

In truth, this duo partnered for doubles action earlier this summer, when their tweetups seemed to commence:

Tennis players are largely humble and mature human beings, but this friendship may not be built to last: Dimitrov upset Wawrinka, 6-4, 6-4, on Thursday to make the 2016 Cincinnati quarterfinals. Whether or not they stan(d) the test of time, this grigorious pair doesn't disappoint—and keepers of the Western & Southern Open's Twitter account are glad for that.
