Sunshine, pizza, pasta and gelato—can life get any better than that? American Jared Donaldson took in the sweet flavors of Rome with a blind gelato taste test challenge.

"We don't have that in the States. I'm just a simple American," Donaldson said, after flavors like cream and mulberry threw him off.

It has been a tough few weeks on clay for Donaldson. After first-round losses in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, and Madrid, the 21-year-old drew a tough opponent in Rome, falling to No. 10-seeded Pablo Carreno Busta in three sets.
