Mangia! There's no better place to learn how to make pasta than in Italy, and Donna Vekic learned this firsthand prior to the start of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome.

The Croatian started her week at the WTA 1000 event making cacio e pepe and gnocchi under the watchful eye of Michelin-star winner Heros De Agostinis at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi, a hotel in the heart of Rome.

"When in Rome," Vekic captioned a post recapping her experience, with a host of suitable emojis. "Grazie chef for the class."

Vekic gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, as well as the finished product. The drool-worthy snaps even drew the envy of the Croatian's tour best friend Belinda Bencic, who's currently sidelined with a hip injury, in the comments.

Are fresh gnocchi and spaghetti the secret to good tennis? Maybe. But at the very least, they might've given Vekic the energy to get through an arduous run at the tournament so far.

Vekic, the No. 21 seed, is through to the fourth round in Rome for the first time in her career thanks to two three-set comebacks over Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Liudmila Samsonova. She'll be the next opponent for world No. 1 Iga Swiatek.
