About two months ago, tennis power couple Elina Svitolina and Gaël Monfils shocked fans by announcing their engagement. The duo had initially announced a break and were spending time apart after the Australian Open. Needless to say, when Svitolina posted a photo of her hand with a massive rock on her ring finger and Monfils smiling in the background in April, fans enjoyed a delightful surprise.

This week in Paris, the couple continues to give fans around the world something to smile about, as Svitolina was spotted in Monfils' player box cheering and supporting her husband-to-be.

Playing in his sixth event of the season, Monfils had a breakthrough in his home major against Spain's Albert Ramos Viñolas. Though Monfils quickly lost the first set to the world No. 38, he'd soon ignited the French crowd. It was a rollercoaster affair, but in the end he came out with a 1-6, 7-6 (6) 6-4, 6-4 first-round victory.

The win was just his second of the season, improving his 2021 record to 2-5.

Svitolina was like any other tennis fan as she sat wide-eyed, fist pumped and erupted with excitement when Monfils sealed the deal.

Svitolina also secured a first-round win earlier in the day against French wildcard Océane Babel. Following the win, she set the tone for Monfils when she signed the camera lens with "Allez Gaël."
