Raducanu smiles during a practice session in Cluj-Napoca.

Emma Raducanu clinched her first Grand Slam trophy in unusual fashion, and she's decided to keep it somewhere just as unusual.

The 18-year-old, who came from qualifying to win the US Open, has given the full-size replica trophy she received to the National Training Centre of the LTA as "a big thank you" to the association.

"I just think the LTA have done so much for me, and I wanted them to have it," Raducanu said during a courtside interview in Cluj-Napoca. "They've played a huge role in my development. It's a little gift."

She has competed in LTA events since she began playing juniors and has also received coaching and training assistance from them during her career. Her coach at the US Open, Andrew Richardson, is from the LTA, as was her trainer—and at Indian Wells, she was helped by another LTA coach, Jeremy Bates.

Raducanu said that she had yet to hold her trophy herself.

"I haven't actually seen it yet. I got it shipped straight to the NTC," she told press. "I don't know if it's there right now, but that's the address."

On Twitter, the LTA said they were "taking good care of it" for the new Grand Slam champ.

This week, Raducanu claimed her first two WTA Tour match wins at Cluj-Napoca before falling to Marta Kostyuk in Friday's Transylvania Open quarterfinals.
