After her historic run from qualifying to claim last year's US Open title, Emma Raducanu became an overnight sensation. The Brit possesses 2.1 million followers on Instagram and a variety of partnerships with major companies such as, Tiffany & Co., British Airlines and Evian—just to name a few. Raducanu has been reaping the benefits of her astonishing run in Flushing Meadows, but she's now dealing with the ugly side of fame.

It's been confirmed by British media that a man named Amrit Magar has been found guilty of stalking the 19-year-old. According to the Daily Mail, the 35-year-old man asked strangers in South London for her address where she lives with her parents. Things escalated quickly from there as he proceeded to visit the home on multiple occasions.

Formerly a delivery driver, he left flowers, a note saying she "deserved love" and on one occasion left a hand-drawn map showing his 23-mile walk from his house in the northwest to get to her. On December 4, which was his final time visiting her parent's home he decorated a tree in their front yard with Christmas lights before stealing shoes from their porch, thinking it was the US Open champion's.

However, the shoes belonged to Raduanu's father, Ian who recognized Mager from the doorbell camera as someone who visited the home before. He quickly got into his vehicle and followed Mager while speaking to police. He was found with the pair of shoes in his bag and was immediately arrested.

Last week, Mager was found guilty and will be sentenced next month. When asked why he stole the shoes he said, "I wanted a souvenir." Since these series of unfortunate events have occurred, the teen is feeling "creeped out" and wants to move as soon as possible. She also is understandably worried about going places by herself and even all together.

“I feel like my freedom has been taken away from me. I am constantly looking over my shoulder. I feel on edge and worried this could happen again. I don’t feel safe in my own home, which is where I should feel safest," Raducanu told press.

The world No. 13 managed to get past a tough opener against fellow US Open champion Sloane Stephens at the Australian Open. In her second-round matchup with Danka Kovinic she fell, 4-6, 6-4, 3-6, to the world No. 74.
