Federer dabbles in bongo playing as future career

The Swiss lost to Zverev, but embraced the fun of the Hopman Cup.

Everyone knows the Hopman Cup can be a lot of fun, and now Roger Federer has brought, or banged, that point home by playing the digital bongos on the "Bongo Cam."

Earlier on Wednesday, he lost a tight battle to teenager Alexander Zverev, 7-6 (1) 6-7 (4) 7-6 (4), before his teammate Belinda Bencic evened the tie with a win over Andrea Petkovic.

Bencic, too, enjoyed the music in Perth.

The Swiss duo teamed up for a mixed doubles win to remain a perfect 2-0 record in round-robin play (they beat Great Britain on Monday).

Bencic and Federer had time to practice their chemistry off the court ahead of the event at a New Years Eve party.

Federer has so heartily embraced the new season, and team spirit of the Hopman Cup, that he's dubbed himself and Bencic, "Benderer."

The bongos are great and all, but it's a lot greater to see Federer back on court again.
