Ferro scored wins over Ekaterina Alexandrova, Sara Errani and Camila Giorgi on her way to final clash with the No. 4 seed.

"I felt very happy," Ferro said. "I was surprised because today I was the most relaxed I've played the whole week. It's a bit surprising because it was a final, but I didn't feel so much the pressure. I really enjoyed myself on the court today."

The 23-year-old was really attached to her new hardware.

Ferro has a court at her house in France, and trained during the extended layoff.

"It means a lot especially after five tough months of practice," Ferro said. "I was already feeling happy just to be back on court competing but it's even nicer to finish the week this way."

Her title win lifts her ranking up to a career-high of No. 44 and she plans to play Prague and the US Open next.
