Taylor Fritz may have suffered a straight-sets loss to Roger Federer in the third round of the Australian Open, but he bounced back and won a tournament the very next week, at the Newport Beach Challenger.

While Orange County is no Melbourne, the win was still a special one, as the California native got to share it with his son, Jordan, who recently celebrated his second birthday.

"I didn't sleep at all on the plane [from Australia] and drove straight to Disney Land because it was my son's birthday," Fritz told the ATP website. "I was there all day and was dead after."

The win gave the American his fifth ATP Challenger Tour title, and his second in Newport Beach. Fritz was also a first-week standout in Melbourne, with his four-set win over No. 30 seed Gael Monfils.

The results have brought Fritz's ranking up from No. 50 to No. 40 in the world.
